Editorial Process
International standards for academic evaluation and publishing
ACS Publishing House encourages the publication of studies, research, and analyses dedicated to the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, art and architectural history, as well as interdisciplinary heritage studies. Authors interested in publishing in the publisher’s collections or in the annual scientific journal “Caietele restaurării” are invited to follow the guidelines below.
Fields and Types of Contributions
ACS Publishing House accepts original manuscripts addressing topics related to cultural heritage, such as:
conservation and restoration of cultural heritage;
studies in art history, architectural history, and heritage protection;
interdisciplinary research applied to heritage (chemistry, physics, biology, materials science);
case studies on conservation-restoration interventions;
theoretical and methodological analyses of restoration practices.
Texts are generally based on case studies, research, or critical analyses derived from professional activity or scientific research, including observations and data obtained during restoration worksites or specialized investigations.
Submission of Manuscripts
Articles may be submitted at any time of the year or during specific periods indicated in the call for papers for each issue. Materials deemed suitable for publication following editorial and scientific evaluation are included in the next available issue or in the corresponding editorial volume.
Authors are requested to submit manuscripts in electronic format to the editorial office contact address or to the address indicated in the respective call.
Evaluation Process
Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by the editorial team and specialists in relevant fields. The evaluation considers the relevance of the topic, originality of the contribution, and quality of documentation.
Authors typically receive feedback on their manuscript within approximately 30 days of submission.
Depending on reviewers’ recommendations, the manuscript may be accepted, returned for revision, or rejected.
