The Restoration Notebooks 2019

Abstract

Trends and Principles in Contemporary Restoration – how do we, specialists from Romania, relate to what specialists from other countries say and do? What are the current European trends? Are principles useful in restoration? Who benefits from them?

We would mention here just one idea – the protective role that principles play. Protection for heritage, so that interventions are carried out with a sense of responsibility; protection for specialists, so that heritage owners and administrators can understand why an intervention is performed in a certain way and not according to uninformed opinions.

The presentation of recent, well-executed conservation-restoration interventions helps all of us grow through the exchange of experience. We therefore keep this as a constant theme in every issue.
