The twelfth issue of The Restoration Notebooks, titled “The People of Restoration”, continues the journal’s established direction of documenting and disseminating knowledge in the field of cultural heritage, while also introducing a significant shift of focus: an emphasis on the specialists working within this domain. In a context where research and restoration results have historically been published only sporadically, while the biographies and professional trajectories of practitioners have remained insufficiently explored, this issue brings the human dimension of the field to the forefront.

The issue is built around interviews conducted with five prominent figures in the field — Tereza Sinigalia, Dana Postolache, Ruxandra Nemțeanu, Oliviu Boldura, and Ioan Darida — offering reflective perspectives on professional training, intellectual influences, and the context in which restoration practice developed in Romania. These contributions are complemented by online video materials, thereby expanding access to the content and diversifying the formats of dissemination.

At the same time, the issue maintains the journal’s established structure, including studies and articles dedicated to the history of restoration, intervention methodologies, legislative frameworks, and case study analyses.
