Abstract

Pippin, the curious little blue tit, has a story worth telling and passing on.

Pippin discovered the façades of historic houses in 2018, with the help of Laura Hangiu, and ever since, he has been flying across the country in search of beauty. Along the way, he has made many friends: the drainpipe with a sea-creature head, the mascarons, and the atlases, all introduced to children in the book The Flight of ZCP39. Pippin’s Quest. He later ventured into the world of the Romanian village in Pippin Flies to the Countryside and traveled far and wide to discover The Most Beautiful Places in Romania, through the eyes of children.

With many friends by his side and determined to show young readers as much as possible of what he has discovered, Pippin launched the first Romanian podcast about cultural heritage for children. The first episodes, along with games and additional information, can be found on pippincelcurios.ro.

Through Pippin’s eyes, classic stories are transformed, and cultural heritage becomes visible.

In this series of reimagined stories, Pippin enters a fairy-tale world filled with familiar characters and adventures, offering children a new way of interpreting well-known tales. When the characters and settings are already familiar, children’s attention can naturally shift toward the architecture of the buildings within the story, the importance of preserving decorative elements, and the value of local architectural identity.

By changing the narrative perspective, the Pippin stories become both a source of humor and an authentic source of information about built cultural heritage.
