Abstract
The Little Great World is an interactive book-game designed to introduce children—and their parents—to architecture and heritage in an engaging and playful way.
Across 15 meaningful stories, readers discover houses and their dreams, precious objects and their makers, encounters between the old and the new, as well as “libraries” of forms and tools. In short, it is a joyful journey into the remarkable, living world that surrounds us, and an invitation to explore the language of craftsmanship.
The authors, Alexandra Mihailciuc and Alexandra Culescu, offer a book that expands beyond its own boundaries. The illustrations accompany the text with a rich visual universe of symbols, opening up new layers of interpretation, while the main narrative conceals, under a magnifying glass, smaller stories and themes for further exploration. Through them, young readers are invited to add their own “brick” to the book’s blue universe and to share their own discoveries.
This is a book recommended for children and beyond—for families and educators alike.
