Abstract

“Chirp-chirrup and chirp-chirp-chirp! Chirp-chirrup-chirp!”

That is how Pippin begins his new adventure alongside Little Red Riding Hood. But his chirping is more than just a beautiful song—it is a helping wing that the curious blue tit extends to Little Red Riding Hood in order to help her escape the Big Bad Wolf. Locked doors, hot tea, cherries smeared on the wolf’s snout, lots of candy, and a tower-house—or culă, as it is also called—give the wolf quite a headache. And then there is Pippin himself, a true expert in defense techniques whenever it comes to invading a culă.

Pippin advises Little Red Riding Hood, Little Red Riding Hood protects Grandma, and the wolf stalks all three of them. But who will emerge victorious?

Through Pippin’s eyes, classic stories are transformed, and cultural heritage becomes visible. In this series of reimagined tales, Pippin enters a fairy-tale world filled with familiar characters and adventures. By reshaping the storyline and changing the behavior of the characters, the Pippin stories become both a source of humor and an authentic source of information about built cultural heritage.
